It is with great sorrow once again that we announce the passing of Yvonne Lance at the age of 86 years old. Yvonne was born in the Minooka section of Scranton in 1940 and passed away on October 20.  Daughter of Philip and Emma Ruthkosky, she graduated from Scranton Tech and later married Fred Lance Jr, who together were married 66 years this past April, until Fred's recent passing.  Yvonne was a stay at home mom raising their three children and later did bookkeeping and answering for the family coal and oil business.  Later she moved on giving her daughter, Laurie the responsibility and worked 25 years at Allied Services at the front desk, directing people to their destinations.  After retirement, she and Fred loved their cruises traveling all over the world. Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; son, Robert; brothers, Philip and Robert; and sister, Diane "Dee" Ruthkosky Albright. Surviving are her son, Fred and wife, Rose; daughter, Laurie Jakes and husband Mark; sister, Patricia Ruthkosky Kolankowski; daughter-in-law, Jean; five grandchildren, Katie, Stephanie, Sean, Victoria and Tyler; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Allied Hospice for their outstanding care along with Donna Borick, Volunteer Seniors Care coordinator and staff for their 24 hour care, cooking and comfort. A funeral service will be held Friday at 1pm in Jackson Street Baptist Church, Scranton.  Interment, Milwaukee Cemetery.  Friends may call in the Church starting at noon.  Arrangements by Thomas J Hughes FH Inc, 1240 St. Ann St., Scranton.
