Yoeny Nuñez, 44, of Scranton, died Saturday at home. His wife is Georgina Gonell.
Born in the Dominican Republic, son of Bienvenido Nuñez and Ana Nuñez Rojas.
Surviving are his daughter Yoany Nuñez and Yoeny Nuñez Jr.
Yoeny was a huge baseball fan and great baseball player. In high school he was known as Little Sammy Sosa due to his great abilities.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 7pm in the Thomas J Hughes FH Inc, 1240 St Ann St, Scranton. Friends may call starting at 5pm.
