Thomas Brace Jr., 58, of Scranton, died Sunday at home.
Born in Scranton to Thomas Brace Sr. and Christine Rosato Brace, Tommy or "Brady," as many friends called him, attended West Scranton High School. He was a self-taught lead guitarist who loved playing and writing music, especially hard rock. He enjoyed, more than anything, playing in a band with longtime friends who appreciated the same kind of music. He was part of many local bands who toured the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. He was very proud to be the opening act for Dirty Looks.
He loved spending time with his family. Tommy was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching Sunday football with family and friends. He had a smile on his face no matter how bad his day was going and would help anyone who needed him. He had a reputation for being a very hard worker and was employed for many years by Iggy Gilardi Construction as a pipefitter.
Surviving are a daughter, Karlie Brace, Pittsburgh; his mother, Christine Rosato Brace; and stepmother, Linda Brace Drozd, Scranton; as well as his brother, Stephen Brace and wife, Crystal, Dunmore; four sisters, Pam Giannetti and husband, Bill, Scranton; Christine Brace, Scranton; Rande Brace, Throop; and Lindsay Brace-Piermani and husband, Matt, Pittsburgh. He has seven nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Brace Sr.
The memorial service will be held Friday, 5 to 7 p.m., from the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann's St., Scranton.
