Teresa Sherman, 83, formerly of Moscow and East Scranton passed away at Allied Services October 20, 2024, where she resided the last two years. She was the widow of Kenneth Sherman. They were married for 57 years until his death in July 2022 Born in Towanda and raised in Dushore, Teresa was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Finan McCarty. Teresa was employed as a nurses aide for various agencies in Lackawanna County prior to her retirement. She also enjoyed bingo and trips to Atlantic City and Thousand Islands, Canada. Teresa is survived by her son Kenneth(Nagwa), Hollywood, MD; Daughter in law Denise Sherman, Dunmore; Grandchildren Alexandria Sherman, Hollywood, MD, ENS Max Sherman USN, Brunswick ME and Hunter Sherman, Dunmore: along with her siblings Gerald McCarty(Louise), Mesquite, NV, Joan Phillips(Doug), Troy, Barbara Gorrell, Bloomsburg, and John McCarty(Kathy), Dushore and numerous nieces and nephews. Teresa was also preceded in death by her son Brian of Dunmore and sisters Kate Meckley of Montoursville and Julia Roy of Laporte. Cremation will be handled by Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home of Scranton. There will be no public viewing or funeral service.
