Teresa A. Iffland

March 30, 1931 to September 24, 2023

Teresa A. Iffland, Dallas, Pa., formerly of Scranton, passed away on Sept. 24, 2023, at the age of 92. She was born March 30, 1931, and her life was a testament to the love she had for her family. Born in Minooka, she was the daughter of the late Alex Skowronski and Alice Slivinski and was a member of St. Paul's Church in Scranton. Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Iffland, and recently her daughter, Lori Hoban, who passed on Aug. 26, 2023, and an infant daughter, Christine, who passed away shortly after birth. Her brother, Norman Skowronski, and her sister, Florence McMullen, also preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters, Debbie Justice (Bob), Dallas, Pa., and Allison Davis (Mike) Shavertown. Teresa leaves her cherished legacy to her five grandchildren: Robbie Justice (Connie), Tolland, Conn., an estranged granddaughter, Kristen Pichler (Andrew), of Casper, Wyom., Helaina Hoban, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Michael Davis of Shavertown, and Alexa Davis, Scranton. She had one great-grandson, Rhett Pichler. Also mourning her passing are a niece, Sue Tonkin, and a nephew, John McMullen (Carol); Linda Bloom Young (Mark) and Bill Bloom (Tracy). Teresa dedicated many years of her life to the Diocese of Scranton, working tirelessly at St. Paul's Rectory. Teresa will forever be remembered for her culinary talents, with her delicious cooking and desserts bringing joy and comfort to countless gatherings. Her recipes will continue to be passed down through generations, keeping her spirit alive. As we bid farewell to Teresa, we remember a woman whose love and kindness enriched the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Family will cherish countless special memories of time spent together and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Paul's Church on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 10:30. Interment will be at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, Pa., where she will be buried with her husband, Bill, and her daughter, Lori. Arrangements by McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1401 Capouse Ave., Scranton. Remembrances/donations in Teresa's name can be made to The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 4 E. Center St., Dallas, PA 18612. Both Teresa and her family were very blessed to have the best staff anywhere caring for her. They made us part of their family and we are most appreciative of their outstanding care.
