
Sally Duffy, 63, of Scranton died unexpectedly at Geisinger CMC on Monday. Her loving husband and best friend is Phil Duffy who will miss her immensely.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Joseph and Jane Quinn Canavan she was a graduate of Dunmore High School and was employed by CVS as a pharmacy technician.
Sally was known by all for her very warm and bubbly nature. Her habitual smile and kind words made everyone feel at ease. She was never judgmental. Her customers at CVS loved her and went out of their way to say hello to her when they would see her out and about.
Sally enjoyed traveling, nature walks, trips to Cape May, NJ, homemade pancake days, and watching classic movies and true crime shows with her husband. Sally was his "gal pal Sal".
Sally is also survived by brothers, Wayne and wife Debbie North Carolina; Joseph (Jay) and wife Mary Ann, Florida; sisters, Ellen and Cheryl Canavan, Dumore; nephews, Wayne Cananvan, Cody Cananvan, Eric Cananvan, Kevin Duffy and Robert Duffy; nieces, Tasha Keating, Danielle Cananvan,Colleen Rinaldi and Jessica Duffy; and brothers in law, Patrick and wife Sue, Scranton; John Duffy, Scranton; Frank Duffy, Scranton; sister in law, Mary Ann Duffy; and her "second mother", mother in law Florence (Mamma) Duffy,Scranton, who will miss greatly their phone chats.
Friends may call Sunday 5-7 PM at Hughes Funeral Home, 1240 St. Ann Street, Scranton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday at St.Ann's Basilica,Scranton.
