Sally Ann Walsh, 84, of Roaring Brook Twp, widow of James Henry Walsh, passed away
peacefully on April 4, 2026 after a long illness. She was surrounded by the love and comfort of
her family.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Joseph and Sally Gilgallon Jackson, she graduated from
Scranton Central High School and Mercy School of Nursing. She was a long time member of St.
Eulalia’s Church, Roaring Brook Twp. Sally was a kind and gentle soul who was perfect for her
chosen profession of registered nurse. Her most cherished role, though, was as a mom. Sally
was a patient and loving mother of 6 who always put others first. A lover of nature, she made
sure her children experienced all that the outdoors had to offer. She enjoyed socializing with
friends and family, yoga, pilates, art classes, traveling, and taking walks in nature.
Mama Sally, as she was known, will be greatly missed by her children, James Walsh (Marianne)
of Boonsboro, MD, Jeanne Walsh Smith (Craig) of Greenville, SC, Joellyn Cawley of Spring
Brook Twp, John of Cleveland, OH, Joseph of Winter Park, FL, and Julie Ann Walsh of Roaring
Brook Twp; grandchildren, Katelyn and Paul Cawley, Kayla Haupt (Trevor), Ryan Walsh
(Jennie), and McKenna Walsh, Conor, Molly, and Keira Smith, and Maeve Palmer;
great-grandchildren, Loretta, Emery, and Margot Haupt, and Scottie Rose Walsh; surviving
siblings; Roberta Roche (Richard), Scranton and Joseph Jackson (April), Clarks
Summit, and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the many caregivers who have lovingly taken care of Sally on her
journey, especially the exceptional staff at Gino Merli Veterans Center. We are forever grateful
to you.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Ann's Basilica on Tuesday at 12:45 PM.
Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. Friends may call at the Thomas J Hughes FH
Inc, 1240 St. Ann St. on Tuesday from 11:30-12:30 AM.

Walshie - we are so very sorry for you and your entire family at the loss of your mom. She was kind and gracious to so many friends of her children, that wandered into the back door and wouldn't leave.
Eternal rest undo Sally.

My deepest sympathies to Sally’s family. She was such a sweet woman! Because she was my cousin Bill’s significant other for many years, I had many opportunities to spend time with her, as did my late father. She will be sorely missed.
