Rosemary Smith 'Nana Rose' 72, of Scranton, died tragically on April 28. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Smith Sr.; and her loving son, William Smith Jr.Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Alex and Claire Koshinski Miller, she was a homemaker before moving back to Scranton with her family from Stamford, Conn. in 1978. She was previously employed by Hurst Corp. for 25 years. Since then, she has worked for the Marywood Sisters, whom she referred to as friends. She was a member of St. Ann’s Basilica and known for her strong faith and devotion to God. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Rosemary took great pride in her home and garden, where she hosted many great parties with her family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially swimming with them and the many shopping trips. She loved her recent vacations with her sisters and niece, and looked forward to more. She was a kind-hearted woman with a heart of pure gold who was always willing to help family, friends, neighbors and even people she didn’t know. She will be truly missed by all.Surviving are two sisters, Theresa Scaccia and husband, Richard, Dunmore; and Helen Douglass and husband, James, Scranton; three grandchildren, John Smith and girlfriend, Kylee Colvin, Factoryville; Julia Smith and fiancé, Ryan Devereaux and their children, Jason and Neko; and William Smith III; and a daughter-in-law, Laura Smith, all of Clarks Summit; and nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann’s St., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m.
