RoseMarie Flannelly

 

RoseMarie Flannelly, Minooka, died peacefully Tuesday morning at Scranton Health Care Center. Born in Exeter on Sept. 26, 1935, she was a daughter of Andrew and Anna Havrilla Wassil. Rose was a graduate of Exeter High School where she proudly performed as a skilled baton twirling majorette. After devoting her life to raising her family, she worked at Majer Styles in Minooka. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish at St. Joseph’s church. RoseMarie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Joseph F. Flannelly Sr. They celebrated 61 years of marriage prior to his passing in December of 2018. In retirement, they enjoyed going to dinner after church, the Bloomsburg Fair, bus trips to Atlantic City and quiet times on their porch. A thoughtful, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed. Family will cherish countless special memories of time spent together, as well as her quick wit. RoseMarie is survived by two sons, Joseph F. Flannelly Jr., Minooka; and John J. Flannelly and wife, Sandra, Cape May, N.J.; two daughters, Lesa Karwaski and husband, Edward, Old Forge; and Marie Gordon and husband, Joseph, Quakertown; eight grandchildren, Dr. Erin Nail and husband, Chad; Jake, Drew and Kyle Flannelly; Austin Karwaski and wife, Casey; Joseph Gordon; Connor Gordon and fiancée, Ashley Kunze; and Jack Gordon; great-grandchildren, Owen and Clint Nail, and Eliza and Dakota Karwaski; and her nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are brothers, Michael and Andrew, infant brothers, Adam and John; sisters, Mary Lukesh and Ann Dziak; and grandson, Edward Karwaski. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Martin Moran, Dupont, and his staff, as well as the staff of Scranton Health Care Center and Allied Hospice for the kindness and care they provided to RoseMarie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, at 11 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish at St. Joseph’s Church, 312 Davis St., Minooka. Interment St Mary’s Cemetery, Avoca. Family and friends may pay respects at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday prior to Mass. Arrangements by Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home, 2908 Birney Ave., Scranton.
