Rory McNerney

 

Rory McNerney, 42, of Scranton, died Saturday at home. Born in Scranton, son of Jacque Judge Gurnari and Paul “PJ” McNerney, he attended Scranton schools and Lourdesmont High School. Prior to his illness, Rory was employed at McLane. Rory will be remembered for his artistic talent, his love of BMWs, and his devotion to the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. He was happiest surrounded by his family and friends, especially his best friends Cory Jefferson, Avery Ninneman, and Ryan “Cricket” Creegan. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Oreo. Surviving are his companion, Maryanne Santerangelo; two daughters, Gianna McNerney and Emily Kizer; a son, Ronin McNerney; his grandmother, Kathleen “Kae” Judge; his brother, Anthony Gurnari; as well as aunts, uncles, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John “Jack” Judge; his uncle and godfather, Robert J. Walker; his uncle, Johnny Judge; his aunt, Jill Judge; and his cousin, Kashia Zelinski. A funeral service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. in the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann St., Scranton. Friends may call starting at 5 p.m.
