Romayne Burke Kozlowski

Romayne Burke Kozlowski, 72, of Scranton, gained her wings at home, surrounded by family. Romayne was proceeded in death by her husband Daniel Kozlowski Sr. who died just 5 days prior. The two just recently got to spend their 55th anniversary together at Thomas Jefferson Hospital. Daughter of Joseph Burke and Romayne Davis Burke, Romayne worked for various companies taking care of handicap and disabled adults. After retirement, she spent her days taking care of her children and grandchildren. Romayne was a true gem. Never afraid to speak on her feelings and never afraid to stand up for what was right. Most may call her feisty, but others saw her caring and nurturing side. She loved spending time with her family at their various family events but also loved seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren achieve new milestones. She enjoyed many camping trips with her husband, vacationing at Acre Lake, and Wildwood New Jersey. She looked forward to getting all her grandchildren together for an annual summer trip to knobles. You always knew when grandma was up, because you'd wake up to Bobby Vinton, or Franki Valli and the Four Seasons playing. Romayne always had a special place in her heart when it came to men. The first two obviously being her husband and son, and as the years went on, her favorite doctors, nurses, and aides always ended up being a male. However, there was no denying her favorite, or how'd she say it "I don't have a favorite grandson." She ended her love for men, when she finally got her King Kong. During her battle of her ailments, she was under the care of various caretakers through agencies. She left her print on each person that cared for her. After getting to know her, she was your Gram. She was always there to listen and knew how to always give the best advice. She is survived by her daughter Debbie Davis and Jeff, Elysburg; grandchildren Jeffrey Davis and fiancé Bianca Sauter, Elysburg; Kristi Kozlowski and grandson-in-law Frank Karluk, Scranton; Joseph Davis, Elysburg; Kyanna Kozlowski, Scranton; Jacob Davis, Elysburg; great grandchildren Natalie Kozlowski and Nathan Karluk, Scranton; Matthew Davis, Elysburg; and Reymond Silvestri, Scranton. Also surviving, brother Mike Burke and Patricia, Scranton; sister in law Karen Loss and Paul, Scranton. Many cousins, nephews, and nieces. She was proceeded in death by her son Daniel J Kozlowski Jr; sisters Shirley Burke Golden, Eileen Burke McDermott; brother Joseph Burke. The family would like to thank the numerous care takers that worked with Romayne through the past few years. Special thank you to Compassionate Care Hospice for their care during her final days.
