Raymond A. Kobesky, 76, of Scranton, died Sunday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart. His wife is Barbara Jones Kobesky. The couple celebrated 15 years of marriage on May 14.Born in Scranton, son of the late Anthony and Jean Kordalski Kobesky, he was a graduate of West Scranton High School. Before retirement, he was employed by Scranton DPW. He was an avid fisher and hunter who also enjoyed 50’s dancing and sitting on his porch. Raymond was proud to be a Navy SEAL veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 207. Also surviving are a daughter, Renee Scholl and Paul Michaels Jr., Dalton; a son, Anthony M. Kobesky, Jessup; five stepchildren, Alan DeLucy Jr. and wife, Danielle; Jason DeLucy and wife, Itxel; Nadine Quirindongo and husband, Luis; William Kobesky and fiancée, Tara; and Sisey Lynn Gonzales; 23 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.He was also preceded in death by an infant brother.A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann’s St., Scranton, by the Rev. Jack Munley. Interment with military honors, Abington Hills Cemetery, Clarks Summit.Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
