August 2, 1943 to August 2, 2018

Paul J. Massenkeil, 76, of The Villages, FL and formerly of Roaring Brook Twp., passed away on Monday July 30, 2018 at Regional Hospital of Scranton after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Judith Chulis. The couple celebrated fifty-four years of marriage June 6th. Born in Scranton, the son of the late Carl and Edith Rudnick Massenkeil. Paul was a graduate of St. Ann's High School and a member of St. Ann’s Church where he was an altar server. He served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. Paul was also a member of St. Eulalia's Church in Roaring Brook Twp. where he was a Eucharistic minister. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Tobyhanna Army Depot. Paul enjoyed fishing and hunting, he was a founding member of the Big Buck Rod and Gun club in Halstead, PA. He was an avid golfer and bowler, who cherished living his dream of spending his retirement in Florida. Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Also surviving are a two daughters, Traci Fosnot and husband, Charles, Dunmore; and Tami Barbush and husband, Tom, Stroudsburg; a son, Christopher and wife, Colleen, Duryea; five grandchildren, Ethan, Noah and Sophie Fosnot and Dylan and Connor Barbush; two sisters, Carol Rossi and husband, Robert, Scranton; and Eydie Kenny and husband, Dick, Olyphant; a brother-in-law, George Chulis and wife, Elayne; Delaware, and sister-in-law, Debra Chulis; Scranton, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also surviving Paul, is their loving Yorkie, Bailie. The family would like to thank the staff of Regional Hospital for the care and compassion that was shown to Paul. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 6, 2018 at 10am in St. Ann's Basilica, 1250 St Ann’s Street, Scranton, PA 18504.
