Nancy Kelleher Cunningham

Nancy Kelleher Cunningham, a native of Scranton, Pa., passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Seal Beach, Calif. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Mildred Cavanaugh Kelleher.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Cunningham, who preceded her in death in 2015.
Nancy was trained in physical therapy and devoted many years of her professional life to the residents of the Marian Convent in Scranton, where her care and dedication left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Following her retirement, she volunteered at Community Medical Center (CMC) in Scranton, exemplifying a lifelong commitment to the health and well-being of others.
Surviving is her son, John Cunningham, and his wife, Rumei, and their daughter, her sister, Kathy Donahue, and her husband, Neil. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Martin J. Cunningham; and her sisters and their husbands, Grace and Frank Lowry and Jean and Mike Farrell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 1, at St. Clare’s Church, Scranton. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. with the funeral Mass starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.
