Michael J. Tomczyk, 70, of Scranton, died Thursday at Regional Hospital.Born in Taylor, son of the late Stanley and Jean Talinski Tomczyk, he was employed as a machinist at Suckle Co. before retirement. Michael was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan. He was extremely proud of his grandson, Tyler, who is serving with the US Air Force in Alaska, and his great-nephew, Alex, who is serving with the US Army.Fly High With the Angels, Bubbles.Surviving are 3 sons, Michael and wife Sharon, Stroudsburg; Danny and Curt; a stepson, Bobby, all of Scranton; two daughters, Michele Hudson, Scranton; and Luann Tomczyk, Fl; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ann Marie Tomczyk, Old Forge; and Sylvia Lewis and husband Donny, Bear Creek; nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Francis Tomczyk; and a niece, Brenda Tomczyk.The family wishes to thank the staff of the 9th Floor ICU at Regional Hospital for the compassionate care given to Mikey.A viewing will be held Monday beginning at 5pm in the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, Inc., 1240 St. Ann St., with a service at 8pm. Inurnment, SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Taylor.
