Michael Fontini, 67, of Scranton, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday. His fiance is Jennifer Triolo.
Born in Scranton December 13,1959, son of the late Anthony and Rita Fontini, he grew up in Olyphant, was a graduate of Bishop O’Hara High School and worked for Smertz Tire for the last few decades. Everyone knew to see Mike when they needed tires. He enjoyed fishing and looked forward to attending the annual Father's Day Car Show at Nay Aug Park, which he did since its inception. Mike's favorite thing to do was spend his free time with his fiancé Jennifer & daughter Kayla.
Mike was a kind, quiet man who lived quietly and happily with his family. He was an expert on vehicle tires. He could look at a tire and tell you how many more miles you had before you were in trouble. He saved many from unnecessary tire troubles. He worked hard to provide for his family and took pride in what he did.
Surviving are his daughters Nikki Leah Mauger 41 and Kayla Fontini 20; four brothers David, James, Mark, & Anthony; two sisters, Joann and Christine, all of whom reside locally.
He was preceded in death by his beautiful sister Marie Eileen Fontini in April 2021.
A viewing will be held Thursday from 6-8pm in the Thomas J Hughes FH Inc, 1240 St. Ann St, Scranton
