Michael A. Walker, 48 of Scranton, passed away on October 23, 2026 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital unexpectedly due to cardiac arrest. Born in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Donald Walker and Melody Walters. He was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and Anthony Walker.
Michael was known for keeping it real to those he met. He was loyal and genuine, never pretending to be anyone other than himself. Everything he did was fueled by his love for his children, his loved ones, and his faith in God.
Michael was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. He had unconditional love and pride for every one of his children and his love never faded when Michael faced challenges that kept them apart. Michael met Faith and had two daughters, Makayla and Melody, whom he affectionately called his "Rose" and his "Diamond." He also gained two stepsons, Nathan and Keyser, whom he loved deeply. Michael and Nathan shared a special bond, becoming best friends and spending countless hours together making memories that will be treasured forever.
Michael found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing with his family, shooting pool with his friends and father, listening to songs and dancing, watching movies, any activity that included the people he loved. A devoted football fan, he proudly supported the Buffalo Bills and could rarely be seen without something displaying his favorite team. He was also the proud owner of his beloved dog, King, and affectionately called him "Kingers” and “King Handsome Kong.”
Surviving are his three sons: Gabriel, Devin, and Jordan; his daughters Makayla and Melody Walker; his brother, Donald Walker Jr.; and his sister, Beverly “Tisha” Walters. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who will cherish his memories forever. Michael’s presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to so many, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Friends and family may come on Sunday, November 1st from 2:00-4:00 to the Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home, 2908 Birney Avenue, Scranton, PA.

As a long time friend of the family and someone who was very close to Makayla and her Parents, I’ve been deeply disheartened to hear the passing of Michael, he was always very good to me and i always knew how much love he shared and passed along to his kids in his absence. May the future for the family be filled with love, happiness, healing and health.
