Mary Lynn McHale, 66, passed away Thursday, April 25th at home. Born in Scranton, she was
the daughter of Catherine Garvey (nee Carney) and the late Francis Eugene Garvey.
She was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and the University of Scranton. Prior to
her illness, she was employed at The ARC as a caseworker.
Surviving are her daughter Lauren, granddaughter Olivia Orr, her brothers James Garvey, his
wife Soli (San Diego, CA), Frank Garvey, his wife Michele (Jessup, PA), David Garvey, his wife
Jennifer (Palm Desert, CA), sisters Erin Garvey, her companion Ralph Loitfelder (Wapwallopen, PA),
Janet Garvey, her companion Tony Shamnoski (Duryea, PA), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Prior to her health problems, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and never
missed an opportunity to make people laugh through her unique sense of humor. Mary Lynn’s faith in
God provided the strength to endure her illness.

It is with great sadness that I received an email that Mary Lynn had passed away. I vividly remember countless hours playing kickball, games, skating on the pond, u name it with Mary Lynn, Erin and David in their pequest drive house and that on N. Abington Rd. May her spirit live forever...and forever it will, as long as we remember her.
