Margaret M. Gerrity, 91, Scranton, died Saturday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was the widow of Gerard A. Gerrity, who died Dec. 4, 2001.Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Patrick and Anne Gilvary OHearn, she was a graduate of St. Anns High School and Powell School of Business. Before retirement, she was employed by the Scranton School District. Margaret was a devout member of St. Anns Basilica and a volunteer at the annual novena.Surviving are two sons, James J. Gerrity and wife, Mary, Arlington, Va.; and Gerard A. Gerrity and wife, Mary Ann, Scranton; two daughters, Ann Gerrity Muklewicz, Delray Beach, Fla.; and Maggie Gerrity, Scranton; seven grandchildren, Daniel Muklewicz, Maggie Hawk, Jayme Menier, Bridget Louder, Stephen Sapol and Michael and Patrick Gerrity; and five great-grandchildren, Lillian and Jane Menier, Stephen Sapol, James Gerard Louder and Benjamin Hawk.She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Tom, John, Joseph, Daniel, Jerry and Patrick OHearn; and a sister, Mary Burke.The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Geisinger Community Medical Center, and Beth and Jen from PHHC for their superb and compassionate care.The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. from the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann St., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Anns Basilica. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 9 to 10:45.
