Louis E. “Skip” Selig Jr.

 

Louis E. “Skip” Selig Jr., 94, born in Scranton on July 8, 1930, passed away on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025 at Allied Service Hospice surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Lewis E. Selig Sr. and Jane Evans Selig. He is survived by his wife Dolores Novack Selig; they would have celebrated their 69th anniversary on June 2nd. He was a lifelong resident of Scranton and attended West Scranton High School. He worked at Bond’s Clothing Store since he was a teenager until enlisting in the Army. After his discharge, he returned to Bond’s until their closing. He then started work at Gould (GNB Battery) until his retirement. He also loved tinkering in his garage. Lou enjoyed being a snowbird and traveling to Florida, until the pandemic. Lou was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Lou is survived by his wife Dolores, daughter Debbie, Scranton, sons William (Kim), Duryea, and Lou, Florida, three grandchildren, Kierstyn, N. Carolina and Gabrielle and Christopher, Duryea. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jean Bartosch and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A service will follow at a later date. Arrangements by the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, 1240 St. Ann Street, Scranton, PA.
