Lorraine C. Lavelle, 84, of Frederick, Md., and formerly of Scranton, died Wednesday at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Gerald F. Lavelle, who died July 2, 1974.Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Daniel P. and Laura C. Wirth Needham, she was a member of St. John’s Evangelist Church in Frederick, Md., and a former member of St. Patrick’s Church in Scranton, and a graduate of West Scranton High School. Before retirement, she was employed by Hughes Network in Gaitherburg, Md.Surviving are two sons, Daniel P. and wife, Amanda; and Michael and wife, Kimberly, all of Frederick, Md.; two daughters, Susan A. King, Columbia, S.C.; and Lori Anne Lavelle and companion, Deborah Martin, Greencastle; six grandchildren, Wendy Graham, Joseph and Johnathon King, Derek and Dustin Lavelle and Laura Hedges; three great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Anna Belle and Addison King; nieces and nephews.She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard H. King Jr.; three brothers, Edgar, Paul and Harry Needham; a sister, Elizabeth Carroll.The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann St., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Patrick’s Church, Jackson Street. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
