
Lori Perry, 48, of the Minooka section of Scranton, died Tuesday at home after a
courageous battle with cancer. Her husband is Timothy Perry, a former Scranton
City Councilman. This June they would have celebrated their 23rd wedding
anniversary. Tim and Lori met in 1994 and haven’t been apart since.
Lori loved being a part of a large family and was very involved with her nieces and
nephews, often watching movies together and going to see them play basketball or
karate.
Born in West Pittston, daughter of the late Eleanor Hurrey and graduate of
Wyoming Area High. Lori was a competitive bowler and was beloved by her
teammates at the South Side Bowling Lanes. Lori was also a cherished employee
at the City of Scranton and loved being a part of the community. Lori enjoyed
spending the holidays with her family, attending birthday parties, summer
cookouts and especially parade day events. Lori will be greatly missed by her
friends, both life-long and new. Lori was known for her bubbly personality, sense
of humor and as a shoulder to cry on. She loved the Philadelphia Phillies, Notre
Dame, shoes and Mickey Mouse.
Also surviving is Mother-In-Law, Ellen O’Halloran Perry, and brother-in-law’s,
Michael Perry, wife Maggie, Patrick Perry and Sara Fontana, Kevin-Sean Perry,
wife Shawna and sister-in-law’s, Meghan Gibbs, husband Matthew and Colleen
Perry, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10am in Divine Mercy
Parish, Davis Street in Minooka, Interment will be private.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-5pm in the Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home,
Minooka, 2908 Birney Avenue.
