Lois M. Sack

Lois M Sack, 96, of Scranton, died Thursday at Regional Hospital. She was the widow of Thomas F. Sack, to whom she was married for 54 years prior to his death in 2006. Born in Scranton, daughter of the late John and Mary Moesel Wilhelm, she was a graduate of West Scranton High School, Class of 1946. Lois was employed in the bookkeeping department of Pittsburgh Plate and Glass prior to starting her most loving role as a mother. Family was always the focus of Lois's life. She was greatly involved in her children's activities as a Cub Scout Den Mother, member of the West Side Boys Club Mothers Club, past president of Charles Sumner PTA and a Sunday School teacher. She was a constant presence in the bleachers for her son's baseball and basketball games, and later for her grandsons' basketball games and tennis matches. She never missed the chance to cheer for them. Lois was an extremely talented seamstress and piano player. She loved gardening and raising indoor plants, especially African violets. Her other favorite things were lottery tickets, word searches, trips to the casino, chocolate and coke. Quiet and unassuming, Lois was a pillar of strength and the most loving and caring person, who always put the needs of others above her own. She was the epitome of an executive's wife, a continuous source of support to her husband and his career. Lois saw the beauty in all things and the goodness in all people. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Lois was a member of Embury United Methodist Church and Glenmaura National Golf Club.
