Linda Walsh Georgetti, 77, of Minooka, passed away Monday at Geisinger Community Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Dominick Georgetti, with whom she recently celebrated their anniversary on September 5th.
Born in Minooka, she was the middle child of the late Paul and Dorothy Conway Walsh, Linda was educated in Scranton public schools, graduate of Scranton Central High School and a lifelong resident of the Minooka section of Scranton.
She was a devoted member of Divine Mercy Parish. As a child, Linda danced for the Tony Grant Stars of Tomorrow on the Steel Pier in Atlantic City. Over the years, Linda worked in many roles, including as a clerk of records at Mercy Hospital, owner/operator of Montage Deli and various roles at Georgetti’s Garden Center, Georgetti’s Floral Shop and Georgetti’s Discount Clothing. But her greatest and most cherished role was that of a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished evenings out with her husband, loved spending time socializing in Minooka and especially loved decorating the house for the holidays. Halloween was her favorite time of the year when she would transform the first floor of her home into a haunted house for her grandchildren.
Linda was affectionately known as “Dee” to her 10 grandchildren, who brought her immense joy: Gabby, Maddie and Max Gentile, Julia, Ben, Ryan, Alexa, Olivia and Samuel Georgetti, and Justine Antosh.
Also surviving are her children: Dominick Georgetti (Debi), Minooka; Bridget Gentile (Greg), Jefferson Township; Paul Georgetti (Kim) Minooka; and Brian Georgetti (Michelle), Minooka; a brother Richard Walsh (Mari), Minooka; sister-in-laws Mary Joan Gibbs, Old Forge, Marcella Georgetti, Moscow, and Sandra Walsh, Moosic, along with an uncle Joseph (Rose) Walsh, Minooka, and many nieces, and nephews.
