On Sunday, March 13, 2022, Laura Christine Wages Brooks, went home to her Lord. Family was her heart and she was the heart of her family. She would always part from guests and family with a hug and love. This is what will be remembered and cherished about her. Laura was born on March 4th 1950 in Binghamton to Doris Wages and Fredrick Wages.
Laura gave her life and energies to service. She was a Vietnam Veteran Registered Nurse and retired as a Major. She continued nursing and serving the people around her. Her strong faith led her to be generous, fair, giving, and brave enough to stand up for the people around her thru her diplomatic abilities.
She was a woman who loved deeply. She was a good listener who looked for ways to solve problems. She was a gastronome and a chef. Food was her way of expressing her joy of life. It was often through her cooking that she touched people. You knew that if they came into her home, she would feed your stomach and your soul. Laura was witty, and funny. She loved games and heaven help you if you challenged her to Scrabble or Pinocle . A conversation with her could last for hours. She deeply loved learning for the sheer joy of it and sharing that knowledge. She was free with her opinions and if you ask you’d better be prepared for her answers. But again, it was done with love.
Laura is reunited in death with his beloved husband Joe Brooks, son Fredrick Paul, and father Fredrick Wages. She is survived by her mother Doris Wages, daughters Christine Wolfe (Todd Wolfe), Meghan Brooks (Derek Crane), Kate O'Neill (Paul O'Neill). She has four adoring grandchildren Matt (Lacy) and Gavin Wolfe, Jacob Crane, Euan O'Neill, and a great-grand daughter Clara Elizabeth Wolfe. Her sister Susan Adamec, brother Dan Wages (Kathy Wages) and many loved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held March 25th at the First United Methodist Church in New Milford, PA
