Larry Mullock of Scranton died Friday February 13, 2026 at Allied Services Skilled Nursing. He was the son of the late Luke and Mary (Bohan) Mullock. Larry was the first graduate from the Scranton Public School Districts Crippled Children's Program at Robert Morris School in 1964. This was the precursor to special education programs that are common today. He worked at Black Diamond Silk Mill, Jaunty Fabric Corporation, and the Lackawanna County Recycling center before retiring. He was a fixture at Saint Paul's basketball programs and for many years presented a sportsmanship award named for him. He was an avid Braves fan from the time they were in Boston until he died. One of his happiest memories was meeting Hank Aaron and seeing him hit a home run against the Phillies. His family would like to thank the staff at Allied Terrace Assisted Living for providing a loving home for Larry for almost 20 years. They would also like to thank the staff at Allied Skilled Nursing where he spent the last few months of his life. Larry is survived by sisters Mary Beth (Fred) Affeldt, Ellen (Jim) Vitaletti, Ann (Joseph) Ruddy; brother, Rick (Mary) Mullock; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Mullock and Ann Marie Mullock; 19 nieces and nephews; a multitude of great nieces and nephews; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Michael; and niece and nephew, Maureen and Patrick. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday at 10:00AM in St Paul's Church, 1500 Penn Ave. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5-7:00PM at McGoff Hughes Funeral Home, 1401 Capouse Ave., Scranton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Larry's memory to St Joseph's Center, 2010 Adams Avenue, Scranton, PA 18509.

Very sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. We had the great pleasure of getting to know him a little bit when my mother was a resident of Allied Terrace Assisted Living Home ( March 2014 - August 2019). Larry was a very kind and caring friend to my Mom, Ethel Gatelli, for which we are very grateful. Surely, Larry has earned a place in Heaven! May his family find comfort in many happy memories of such a good man.

We met and knew Larry only through his sister, Mary Beth. Through her we followed his life and came to admire him. Well done, good and faithful servant.
