Kimberly (Lavelle) Gregosh

Kim are you reading this? Our sister and Aunt, Dimmy Lavelle (Kimberly Gregosh), 62, loved to read obituaries and now has, herself, created one. Kim passed away at Abington Manor on May 6th under the solid love and care of great nurses and staff after an unfair battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends who took her with dignity and warmth to the other side. It is there we hope Kim will be reunited with our parents, Shirley & Tom Lavelle and our recently deceased Big Sister, Lauri and Little Sister, Beth. Her three siblings-Todd, Kelly, and Tish-will together with 20 nieces, nephews and grand-kin will carry Kim’s love throughout their days ahead. Kim was an alumna of Henry Longfellow #28, St. Paul’s and a graduate of Scranton Central High School’s Class of 1979. Kim spent 20 years as a nurse’s aid at Allied Services giving spinal chord patients-young & old-new life and inspiration. She would later spend 10 years in our home caring for our ailing mother, Kelly and the nieces & nephews to whose lives she added immensely. She lived to care not only for people but for Game Shows, reminding our young nephew Grayson that his REAL father was “indeed Bob Barker”. With humor, love, naked truth and a visceral zest for life she would not admit to, Kim gave life and will live on in us all. A “Kim & Beth Gathering” and sharing of “Dimmy Tales” will occur at St. Paul’s Church, 1510 Penn Avenue, Scranton at 3-4pm and continue with a 4pm funeral service (musiq by MJ & Nan) on Friday, June 13th and be followed by an evening “Lavellian Celebration of Life”. All are welcome. No need to wear black, please. Kim loved color. Thank you, Kim. We miss you and promise to use the gifts you’ve left. Arrangements by McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home, 1401 Capouse Avenue, Scranton, PA.
