Kevin Kilpatrick, 30, of Shavertown, died Aug. 31.
Born in Englewood, N.J., son of James and Elena Kilpatrick, he was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and a member of the 2010 Lackawanna League District 2 Championship football team. He attended West Chester University and was a member of the football team. Kevin was deeply religious and celebrated his Russian Orthodox faith. He was an avid New York Jets and USC Trojans fan and loved gardening. He enjoyed trips to the beach and spoke lovingly about the yearly family trips to Long Beach Island with his cousins. Kevin loved spending time with his family and adored his dog, Beckley.
Also surviving are his grandparents, Alan and Marilyn Kilpatrick, Downsville, N.Y.; and several aunts and uncles and his cousins, Kyle, Michael and Sara White and Elizabeth, Rebecca and Lynn Cherchia.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nina and Stefan Kuksa.
Kevin loved life and cherished his friends and family.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 5 p.m. in the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann's St., Scranton. Friends may call starting at 2 p.m.
