Keith E. Williams

Keith E. Williams, 81, of South Abington Twp., died Oct. 31 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart. His wife is the former Nancy I. Williams. The couple celebrated 60 years of marriage on Dec. 29.Born in Scranton, son of the late John D. and Margaret Johns Williams, he was a member of Countryside Community Church, Newton. A graduate of West Scranton High School, he attended Penn State University, Boston University and was a graduate of the University of Scranton. He proudly served in the Navy aboard the USS Wisconsin, performed with the Navy Band as a saxophonist, and also served with the Navy Reserves. Before retirement, he worked as a pharmaceutical rep for Hoffman-Roche. He loved his job and received five presidential achievement awards for sales. Keith was a musician, singer and played with several local bands. He currently sang for several churches and enjoyed playing secular music. For many years, he served with the Chinchilla Hose Company and the Ambulance Band. He was very active with the Boy Scouts of America and served as Cub Master in Chinchilla. Keith also served on the Board of Directors at Chinchilla United Methodist Church, supported Penn State football as a season ticket holder for 35 years, was a lifelong Yankees fan and was a troubleshooter for Channel 44 during its auction fundraising for 20 years. Keith was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed traveling the world with his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his English bulldog, Mia Bella, his chihuahua, Sophie, and his Boston terrier, Bailey.Also surviving are two daughters, Dawn Williams Houck, Phoenix; and Loriann Williams and companion, Keith Williams, Scranton; a son, Randall K. Williams, Lake Ariel; three grandchildren, Daniel K., Travis R. and Bradley M. Williams; three stepgrandchildren, Natalie, Weston and Sawyer Doty; a stepgreat-granddaughter, Janessa Doty and husband, Jeff; and a stepgreat-grandson, Trevor Williams.He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Korilynne Williams.A funeral service will be held Saturday at noon from the Davies & Jones Funeral Chapel, 135 S. Main Ave., Scranton, by Rev. Lynn Snyder. Interment, Washburn Street Cemetery, with honors by the Navy.Friends may call starting at 11 a.m.
