Karen Beppler

Karen Jeanne Beppler, 71, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021. Born in Scranton, a miracle baby weighing less than a pound, Karen was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Jeanne (Besecker) Beppler. She is survived by two brothers, Harold Beppler Sr., (Margot), Factoryville, and Brian Beppler (Colleen), Scranton; sister, Elaine Calderone (Warren), Endwell, N.Y.; aunt, Judy Besecker, Pittston; cousin, Millie Ryczak (Richard), Dalton; and several nieces and nephews. Despite living with cerebral palsy, Karen was an active and gregarious person. She loved spending summers at the family cottage at Lake Manataka and was a participant in Goodwill Industries bowling tournaments where she once won a third place trophy. She especially loved listening to her music — her favorites were Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton and Barbra Streisland — and watching her many DVD movies. Karen also loved latch hook rug making, bingo and New York Yankees baseball. The family would like to thank the staff of the Jewish Home of Eastern PA for providing excellent and compassionate care for Karen since she became a resident in 2006. Friends and family may visit Wednesday, July 14 at 10 a.m. at Davis and Jones Funeral Home in West Scranton with service following at 11 by the Rev. Elliott Cooke and then interment at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jewish Home of Eastern PA and the Deacons Fund at Jackson Street Baptist Church, Scranton.
