June Knott Condo

June 12, 1930 to July 25, 2023

June Knott Condo of Contoocook, New Hampshire passed away peacefully at age 93 on July 25, 2023. She was born June 12, 1930 in Scranton to Mildred and Charles Knott. She grew up in Scranton and graduated from West Scranton Senior High in 1948. She worked at Eureka Printing Company where she met the great love of her life, Spurgeon (Spurg) Condo, whom she married in 1966. June worked as an executive secretary, eventually retiring from Honeywell Corporation. Following Spurg’s retirement in 1981, they moved to Warner, New Hampshire and settled in Contoocook in 1997. Both of them were very active in the Penn State Alumni Association, and June was an avid fan of Penn State football and the New England Patriots. She was a skilled seamstress and crafter, creating original clothing for herself, costumes for her grandchildren, cross-stitch works, and handmade cards. June was also an active member and volunteer at Slusser Senior Center, where she played mahjongg and worked for Dial-a-Ride. June was preceded in death by her beloved husband Spurg in 2011. Surviving family members are her sister Mildred Knott Reid, stepdaughter Peggy Condo Buntz, grandchildren Andrea Buntz Neiman (Chris) and Eric Buntz (Crystal), and great-grandsons Henry and Emmett Buntz. June is also survived by her nieces Chris McWilliams (Dallas) and Elizabeth Reid Yohe (Fred), nephews Gene Reid (Teresa) and Richard Reid, great nephews Kevin Reid, Patrick McWilliams, and Connor McWilliams, and great niece Emily Reid. A memorial service will be held September 8th in the Davies & Jones Funeral Chapel, 1401 Capouse Avenue, Scranton, PA. Family and Friends may call from 12:00 to 1:30 will a service at 1:30 in the funeral home. Inurnment Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to the Slusser Senior Center (checks c/o Town of Hopkinton, 330 Main Street, Hopkinton NH 03229 - please note “Slusser Center” in memo line), the Penn State Alumni Association (checks c/o Penn State, ATTN Director of Alumni Development, Hintz Family Alumni Center 2nd Floor, The Pennsylvania State University, University Park PA 16802), or the First Congregational Church of Hopkinton (1548 Hopkinton Road, Hopkinton NH 03229).
