Joseph Ryan Farro

Joseph Ryan Farro, 43 entered Heavens gates on Wednesday, December 10th. He was the beloved son of Lisa and David Gard, Scranton and Joseph and Colleen Farro, Orlando, Florida. Born in Scranton he was a 2000 graduate of Bishop Hannon High School. Joe spent a huge part of his life in the Restaurant/Bar Service Industry where he was able to maximize his outgoing nature, huge smile and “bottle flipping” talents. Joe always had a kind word for everyone, whether you were a friend or stranger, in fact if you were a stranger, within minutes you became a friend. Joe was very competitive and played several sports with baseball being his favorite. He was a diehard fan of the New York Yankees and the Seattle Seahawks. His love of travelling brought him all over the world with his favorite places being St. Croix and Paris. Joe was funny, big hearted, and a genuine good soul. His love for his family and friends was immeasurable. He always put you at ease and made you feel seen, accepted and important. The light he brought to this world has not been extinguished but will live on in the millions of memories we have of him. Along with his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Jeff (Caitlin) Farro, Eric Farro, both of Scranton, and Stephen Farro, Orlando, Florida. Nephews Owen Farro, Colson Farro, Niece Olivia Walters. Uncles Ron (Lori) McCullon and Mark Treski. Aunts Dawn (Len) Cross, and Diane (George) Shibley. Great Aunt and Uncle Joseph and Christine Ambrosia, “Aunt” Lori (Pete) Diano and Amelia, who was like a daughter to him and his beloved furry “son” Fil. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Dorothy and Gerald Treski and Ron McCullon, Paternal grandparent Betty Farro, Uncle Jeff McCullon and Aunt Jewelie Hudson. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, 500 Penn Ave. Scranton, Pa 18503 in memory of Joseph Farro. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, December 21 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, 1240 St. Ann's Street, Scranton, PA 18504.

You have lived in my classroom for these many years with one of the greatest stories of my years as a teacher. I tell it every year and it always brings a smile if not tears to my eyes from laughing. You were one of the most honest and down to earth students to ever grace my classroom. You will be missed but NEVER forgotten. Not as long as I can breath and keep telling your story. Rest in peace my friend! Always and forever! Mr. Skot
