
Joseph J. Granville, passed away on Monday May, 12th following a motorcycle accident in Tunkhannock Township.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Clare (Nemetz) and Clarence and brother David.
Surviving are his daughter Elysia, her husband Allen Zitzelman and step grandson Dennis, Scranton,
brother Michael and wife Mary Ellen, Jefferson Heights, his best friend and brother Stephen, Scranton, twin sister Julia and husband Fred Miller,
a nephew James and wife Emily Miller, Oklahoma,
neice Lauren and husband Matthew Demeck, Scranton,
neice Elizabeth Miller, Scranton
and several great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
He was a 1974 grade school graduate of St Paul’s School and a 1978 graduate of Bishop Hannan High School.
Prior to his retirement he was employed with BMC Office Furniture Inc. for over 30 years.
He was a loving and amazing father. His daughter was the apple of his eye.
He was a strong, caring, loyal man. He would do anything for anyone, you just had to ask. He showed his selflessness by being an organ donor He was also an avid Minnesota Vikings Fan. He was beyond thrilled to have seen them play in person last year.
He loved participating and watching sports. He was a regular at the Demeck’s House for playing horseshoes in the summer.
He was also a regular on Thursday nights meeting up with old school buddies at Jack’s Draft House.
He will be deeply missed and always loved, by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the EMTs (Kunkle Fire Dept) who cared for Joe on the way to the Hospital, along with the 40 some doctors and nurses who cared for him at Geisinger CMC Trauma Unit.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday May 24th at 10:00am. in St Paul’s Church, 1510 Penn Avenue, Scranton, PA.

As I type this with a heavy heart still in shock and disbelief I'm extremely grateful to become so close these past few years with you. As you became Uncle Joe to everyone at 816 all your friends from the horseshoe pits say "R.I.P". Horseshoes will never be the same. Love ya Uncle Joe
