Joseph A. Burke

 

Joseph A. Burke, 75, of Scranton, died Wednesday at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Scranton, son of the late Joseph and Ann Jordan Burke, he was employed by Haddon Craftsmen and Laminations prior to retirement. Joseph loved spending time with his family and listening to music, especially The Beatles, Elvis and Sinatra. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed. Surviving are his daughter, Maureen Burke, Scranton; grandson, Shane Burke and fiancée Caitlyn Rushnock, Carbondale; four sisters, Alice Krayer; Nancy Hiller and husband, Wayne; Noreen Burke and Mary Hughes and husband CJ; brother, Donald Burke and wife, Kate; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Burke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Mary Mother of God Church, William Street, Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call in the church starting at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements by Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann St.
