John Rock, 86, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday at home. His wife, Carol Rock, passed away Jan 10, 2005. Born in Scranton, son of John and Veronica Zingle Rock, he was a graduate of St. Paul's High School and a United States Army Veteran. Prior to retirement, he was head of maintenance at the Country Club of Scranton. John was an avid model train enthusiast, who enjoyed bowling and putting together intricate model puzzles. He loved his furry companion, Brock. Surviving is his son, John Rock; daughter, Cheryl Zarnowski and husband, Stephen; several grandchildren; and longtime friend, Judy Brown. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Patrick and James Rock. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11am in the McGoff-Hughes FH Inc., 1401 Capouse Ave, Scranton. Friends may call starting at 9am. Interment at a later date, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
