
John “Jack” H. Supeck, 73, of Avoca, died Saturday at Kindred Care in Wilkes-Barre. His wife of 25 years, Emily Waxman Supeck, preceded him in death.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Joseph and Lizzetta Freese Supeck, he attended West Scranton High School and worked over 40 years for the railroads. Jack was a combat engineer for the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed NASCAR, watching old time movies, attending car shows and going to the VFW with family and friends.
Surviving are his three children, Jason Supeck and husband, Bobby; Jennifer Caramanno and husband, Tony; and Jessica Bezek; grandchildren, Anthony, Angelo and Nico Caramanno, David Dando and Markus Bezek; stepchildren, Leanne Thomas and husband, Mark; Jennifer Rowe and husband, Jamie; stepgrandchildren, Dylan, Riley, Jamie, Jacob and Jaycee; and stepgreat-grandchildren; brothers, Gary, Ohio; Frank, Tennessee; James, Lancaster; and Randy, Dunmore; sisters, Ruth Bouder, Lancaster; Lisa Leonard, Karen Whiteduck and Dedra Humphreys, all of Scranton; and Lauren Anderson, West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Joel and Timmy; and a sister, Barbara Lombardo.
A viewing will be held Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann’s St., Scranton.
