John Boswell

John Boswell, 40, of Scranton, died Tuesday at Moses Taylor Hospital. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Molly Gallagher and their two children, Jack and Mary Boswell.Born in Tuscaloosa, AL, son of Judy and Mark Bradford, Gulf Breeze, FL and Thomas and Sheryl Boswell, Tuscaloosa, AL; he was a graduate of Gulf Breeze High School and received an advertising degree from the University of West Florida. He worked for many years as a graphic designer and bartender and even owned his own bar in Philadelphia PA. John gave everything of himself for his family, moving to Scranton to support his wife while she attended graduate school and becoming a stay-at-home father to their two young children. He was a great cook, who enjoyed not only making culinary creations but also brewing his own beer and mixing music in his spare time. However, Johns true passion was playing with his children and creating memories that they will forever cherish. John fought a long hard battle with congestive heart failure with the help of his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, and son who will be deeply missed. Also surviving are Johns brother, Adam Boswell and wife, Sheena; his sister, Courtney Birkle and husband, Alex; brother, Daniel Michael Brennan; grandparents, Eleanor Boswell and Clarence Duffy; in-laws, Ann Marie and Kevin Gallagher; brothers-in-law, Ryan Gallagher and Sean Gallagher and wife, Holly; sister-in-law, Beth Gallagher-Berardi and husband Tony; and nieces and nephews, Sophie and Adrin Boswell; Mallory, Flynn, and Gavin Gallagher; Caiden, Luca, and Cole Berardi; Indianna Robinson; Emma Goloski; and Logan Duffy; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, AJ and Ruth Ryan; Louis Boswell; and Mary Duffy.The family would like to thank the staff at The Heart Hospital at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, specifically Dr. Ataul Qureshi.A memorial service will be held Saturday from 4-7 PM at the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, Inc., 1240 St. Ann St., Scranton with a private memorial to follow.
