Jennifer “Jenn” Krieger, 53, of Old Forge, died Thursday at Geisinger CMC in Scranton. Her husband is Daniel Krieger. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Robert and Marie Scomona Passetti, Glen Lyon, she was a graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area High School, where she played flute in the marching band, and Marywood University, where she earned a degree in nutrition. Originally a registered dietician, she later transitioned to a community engagement manager role in the health care service industry. Jenn lived with a remarkable passion to stay active, running five marathons, competing in family pickleball tournaments, instructing “spin” classes, and constantly finding a way to challenge herself. She had a generous spirit, always looking to help others and bring people together by staying involved in her community through organizing fundraising events, serving as PTO president, and volunteering her time to causes such as End Alzheimer’s. Jenn also enjoyed making blankets for loved ones, singing in the St. Ann’s choir, dancing, watching sports, reading, playing mahjong, spending time with her beloved dogs, “Cooper” and “Shortstop,” and going to the beach. She was known for her infectious laugh and for always finding a way to put a smile on the faces of the people she loved, bringing warmth and joy to those around her. For all of her accomplishments and activities, the role she cherished most was being a mother. Surviving is her son, Aidan, Old Forge, and long-time girlfriend, Abby Thompson, Scranton. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Robert P. Passetti Jr. and wife, Tracey, Forty Fort; Susan H. Thomas and fiance, Joseph Foy, Nanticoke; Jeffrey M. Passetti and wife, Adriana, Laflin; April M. Passetti and Bill Shultz, Tunkhannock; Audry Rose Bayhurst and husband, Daniel, Erie; and Alexander D. Passetti, Glen Lyon. She also leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-law, Kevin Krieger, Taylor; Lenore and Billy Boyle, Scranton; and Jonathan and Tanya Krieger; Scranton. She was “Cioci Jenn” to nieces and nephews, Kelly Krieger, Casey Krieger, Logan Krieger, Emma Thomas, Ayla Krieger, Brady Thomas, Apalonia Passetti, London Fenner, Daniel Bayhurst, Dylan Bayhurst, Mason Shultz, Cecilia Bayhurst, Charlie Krieger, and Hadley Krieger. She was preceded in death by siblings Charles Z. Passetti and Kristan O. Passetti, grandparents Zigmund C. Scomona, Hedwig Scomona Long, and Avaristo and Arline Passetti, and parents-in-law Leonard and Patricia Krieger. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 1:15pm in St. Ann's Basilica, Scranton. Interment, SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Taylor.
