Jean Marie “Jeannie” Walsh Franko, of Scranton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 18, 2026. A 1976 graduate of West Scranton High School, Jeannie lived a life centered on faith, family and love. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with those she loved, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Elsie Walsh, and brother, Gerald Walsh. Surviving are her siblings, Paul Walsh and wife, Shirley; Janet Butka and companion, Ali; Dave Walsh and wife, Karen; Debbie O’Neil; Tim Walsh and wife, Laurie; Bill Walsh; Ron Walsh; and Gloria Healy and husband, John; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Jackson Street, Scranton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Richard E. Fox. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to William Walsh @William-Walsh-275. Jeannie will be remembered for her love of family, her faith and the many lives she touched.
