Jason "Jay" Marcus Pearson

Jason "Jay" Marcus Pearson, 42, of Scranton, passed away.
Born on Jan. 17, 1981, to Tyrone Geiger and Kathy Pearson in Jersey City, N.J., he was educated through the Jersey City Board of Education and entered the workforce immediately after completing high school in 2001. Jay met his loving wife, Latifa, in 1997 while in high school and married her in 2006. That 26-year union produced three beautiful children and many great memories.
Besides doing the things he enjoyed, like working on his house, grilling, playing video games and spending time with his family, he was a hard working man. He was employed as a commercial truck driver for 18 years and in June 2022, with his son by his side, he obtained a certification in professional detailing, in order to begin their own business.
Also surviving are his three children, Saleem, Saleema and Latifa Pearson; daughter-in-law, Jelytzanette Lopez; maternal grandmother, Bobbi Pearson; brothers, Michael Emmanuel and Tyrone Pearson; sisters, Tyquanda White, and Jamie, Tylera and Saleema Pearson; brother-in-law, Michael Maske; sister-in-law, Princess Maske-Bryant; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Pearson family would like to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann's St., Scranton. Friends may call starting at 5 p.m.
