Jane Murray Burke

 

Jane Murray Burke, 96, of Minooka, died Thursday at home. She was the widow of Frank Burke Jr. Born in Minooka, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Higgins Murray, she was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church and Divine Mercy Parish. Prior to retirement, she worked at the Social Security Administration. She will be greatly missed by her children, Frank Burke III and wife, Mary Alice, Scranton; Jane Burke, Minooka; and Ann Calpin, Minooka; grandchildren, Shannon Burke, Casey Zaffino (Sean), Jamie Jeffers (Gene) and Kaleena Lewis (Chris); great-grandchildren, Nora and Owen Jeffers, and Tess and Calpy Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her seven brothers, Joseph, Jerry, Bobby, P.J., Jackie, Billy, Jimmy; and two sisters, Kathleen McGurrin and Mary Corbett; grandsons, Seamus Burke and Frank Burke IV; and sons-in-law, Jimmy Calpin and Jim Fox. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in Divine Mercy Parish. Friends may call in the church starting at 9 a.m. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Davis Street. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Allied Services Hospice Care.
