James “Jay” Duff, 56 of Scranton, passed away at Geisinger Community Medical Center on 10-14-26. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late James Norman and Sandra Miles Duff. Jay was a graduate of West Scranton High School. He is survived by his wife Sheila Philbin Duff, sons Jonathan Bibalo (wife Sarah), Michael Bibalo, Matthew and Thomas Duff, two sisters Melissa Loscombe and Holly Duff, grandchildren: Maddox Duff, Octavius and Isaiah Duff, Mackenzie Bibalo, Hannah Bibalo and Lucas Duff. He was preceded in death by his son Christopher. He was known in his youth as an exceptional athlete and recruited by professional scouts for his talents as a baseball pitcher. Jay was fierce in his loyalty and depth of love for his family. Even in death, his generosity was evident with his Gift of Life donations. A viewing will be held Tuesday, 10-20-26 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, 1240 St. Ann’s Street, Scranton, PA.
