Glenn Michael Knott

Glenn Michael Knott passed away unexpectedly at home on Aug. 13, 2023, at the age of 35. Glenn is survived by his wife of 10 years, Ashley Knott; as well as his son, Logan Michael Knott. Born in Shenandoah on June 9, 1988, Glenn was a sweet and bright child. Glenn graduated Shenandoah Valley High School in 2006, later attending Bloomsburg University where he graduated with a degree in criminal justice. He later attended Marywood University, graduating with a master's degree in social work. Glenn also honorably served his country with the United States Army Operation Iraqi Freedom. Glenn has since worked as a community nursing home social worker at the Wilkes-Barre Veterans Affairs Medical Center. On April 20, 2013, he married the love of his life and college sweetheart, Ashley, a nurse and incredible partner. Six years ago, Glenn and Ashley also welcomed their son Logan into the world - the most important part of Glenn's life. Glenn was a devoted father, husband, son and brother. In addition, he was an advocate for all of the many patients he encountered through his work. Nothing brought him more joy than his family. You could always find him with his son, playing, swimming and spending quality time together every day. Glenn truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures - spending time with friends and family, playing video games, paintballing, and traveling with his wife and son. Glenn, in his profession and community, never stopped giving and learning. He was kind and generous in helping others in need and his ability to lead was a testament to his intelligence and commitment to others. Glenn's exemplary life inspires us to love deeply and live fully. Glenn was predeceased by his father-in-law, Michael Duffy; uncle, Kevin Knott; and friend, Colin Rooney. In addition to his wife and son, Glenn is survived by his parents, Keith and Deborah Knott; his brothers, Gary Knott and spouse, Joie; and Gavin Knott; sister, Jessica Knott; mother-in-law, Linda Duffy; sisters-in-law, Casey Golosky and spouse, Jason; and Bailey Duffy and partner, Robert Eisenhart; brother-in-law, Colin Duffy; nieces, Emma Golosky and Mila Duffy; nephews, Michael Jerry Golosky, Ryan Hasker and Elijah English. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann's St., Scranton. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Those who wish to remember Glenn in a unique way may donate to the Wounded Warrior Project in his name.

I was shocked and saddened to just learn of Glenn's passing today. I work as an Admissions Director at a VA Contracted Nursing and Rehabilitation facility. Glenn and I spoke on a regular basis, as he was working with one of the many Veterans he was always trying to assist. He was the most dedicated, honest, hardworking advocate for all Veterans. He had a great personality and you could hear the smile in his voice when you spoke with him. Always responsive, always there when anyone needed him. My deepest sympathy go out to his wife and son and his entire family. You are in my thoughts and prayers as is Glenn, may he rest in peace. Monica Trilli
