Geraldine 'Gerrey' Nardelli

October 21, 1941 to October 21, 2016

Geraldine (Gerrey) Nardelli, 85, of Dunmore, died Monday morning at Park Lane at Bellingham, West Chester, two days before her birthday, Oct. 19. She was the widow of Anthony L. Nardelli, who died on June 7, 2006. Born in West Scranton on Oct. 19, 1930, daughter of the late Henry and Esther Gallo Vazquez, she was a graduate of West Scranton High School. Before retirement, she was a product demonstrator at the Globe Store. She was always on the cutting edge with the latest new products and technological gadgets. She had a Facebook following of close to 150 friends and read all her magazines online on her iPad. She was also an expert on programming her DVR. Pretty amazing for a woman over 80. Gerrey was a big fan of HSN and QVC, the UPS drivers will attest to that. She was “one of a kind” -- generous, brave, kind, empathetic, not to mention a wonderful cook. Gerrey will be eternally missed by all who knew her.Surviving are a daughter, Sharon A. Nardelli and husband, Michael Saidis, of Wayne, Pa.; a son, Anthony (Tony) Nardelli Jr. and his wife, Naomi, of Chantilly, Va.; six grandchildren, Tony, Brandon, Cameron, Courtney, Aspen and Rocco; a brother, Michael Vazquez and his wife, Peggy, of Clarks Summit; a brother-in-law, Joseph DeSanto, Scranton; her dear cousins; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her younger sisters, Mary DeSanto and Joann Ferrario.Friends may pay their respects at the McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1401 Capouse Ave., Scranton, from 4 to 6 p.m. As per Gerrey’s wishes, the rosary will be said at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gerrey’s memory to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18510; or Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E.
