George (THE GREEK) Efthimiou 77, of Scranton, PA went to be with the Lord after a brief illness on August 17, 2026. He was a loving Brother and Uncle that will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor that made us all smile. His laughter filled with joy as he told each joke to us over and over like it was the first. Hearing that laughter made all that was around him feel good. We are all blessed to have such a man in our lives. Georges faith and deep convictions for Christ, gave him comfort at his passing. George was proceeded in death by his parents Dorothy Donelly Price and Charles Efthimiou, sister Diane Sheehan, nieces ,Allison Demey and Anita Demey George is survived by sisters Ellen(Steve)Shamnoski, Alice Vaughn, who was his life caretaker, Cheryl(Tony)Comparetta, along with many nieces and nephews. His very special niece Sarah Koester, who devoted herself to caring for her uncle during his most important time of his life. Her dedication to her uncle is more beautiful than words can convey. Ronnie Vaughn and Mario Johns , were his two very best friends, that made his lifes journey memorable to the end. A special thank you Tim Hughes at Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Homes, 1240 St. Ann Street, Scranton, PA. 18504 for the after life care of our brother. There will be no calling hours at this time. Family will hold a Celebration of Life for George at a future undetermined date.
