Gail Savinelli, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully June 18, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. Born June 10, 1940, she was the daughter of Henry Burke and Louise Houser. A lifetime resident of Scranton, Gail graduated from West Scranton High School in 1958 and earned her nursing license from the Scranton State Hospital. After obtaining her nursing license, Gail worked at Mercy Hospital and the Community Medical Center until her retirement. Gail is survived by her husband, Ralph Savinelli; daughters, Sandra, Kathleen, and Lisa; daughter-in-law, Linda; and sons-in-law, Christopher and Douglas. Also surviving are six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Catholic Mass will be held Tuesday, June 22, at St. Lucy’s Church in West Scranton at 10a.m. The family would like to thank Dr. Gerard Nealon for the loving and compassionate care he gave to Gail. Arrangements by Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann’s St., Scranton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Lucy’s Church.
