Eugene S. Figured, 89 of New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Dec. 30, 2020. Born in Scranton, Pa. on July 28, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elsie (Shulawich) Figured and husband to Carole (Senchuk) Figured, who preceded him in death on May 5, 2013. Eugene served in the United States Marine Corps and later went on to work in the airline industry as an aircraft mechanic for 40 years until his retirement. He enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled model airplanes, taking daily walks and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Sylvester Figured and Joseph Figured; and sisters, Dolores Briskie and Lucille Langan. He is survived by his children, Eloise Crowley, JoMarie Heritage and Eugenia Figured-Balestriere (Sebastian), seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Jack Figured (Shirley), William Figured (Barbara), Carl Figured (Patricia), Mary Bohn (James), and Louise Burdett-Jervis, along with many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Jan. 4 at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Monastery Shrine Basilica in Scranton and can be viewed at http://bit.ly/htechfssa. Interment with military honors will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
