Edward Thomas

Edward Thomas, 66, of Scranton, passed away on Saturday at Regional Hospital. His wife, Kelly Murphy Thomas, passed away in 2013. Born in Scranton, son of the late Paul and Joan Ford Thomas, he was a graduate of West Scranton High School, and a proud two-time president of the local roofer's union. Edward owned and operated a roofing business out of his home for more than 20 years, working alongside his eldest son. He was always one to donate his time and efforts to establishments around town when needed, and was honest, fair, and consistently hard working. Because of this he made and kept friends wherever he went. Edward retired at age 62 from PA American Water Company. In retirement he enjoyed cooking for loved ones, traveling the world with his partner Connie Bagasevich, watching his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team, listening to great music, and spending time telling stories and laughing with his close friends over a few Miller High Life's. Surviving are his sons Paul Thomas, and Casey Thomas both of Scranton, his brother Robert (Keke) Thomas, sister Patricia Wallick (Gerard) of Scranton and sister-in-law Elizabeth Thomas, also of Scranton. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kelly Murphy, two brothers, Paul (Bumper) Thomas and Mike Thomas, and sister Kathleen Gaughan, all of Scranton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10am in St. Ann's Basilica. Friends may call from 9-9:45am in the Thomas J Hughes FH Inc, 1240 St Ann St, Scranton.

I miss you already, my friend. Who am I going to talk about cooking with?? Listen to the best music with? Laugh about lifes constant bullshit with? I met you right after I moved here from NYC 20 years ago. You made me feel right at home and continued to, all these years. That is a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Until we meet again, Eddie. Rest easy~β™₯️
