May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your land,
May the rain fall soft upon your face.
Until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
“I was born in Scranton. I am the son of the late Joseph and Estelle Kelly Ingoldsby. I attended the old Chapel School and graduated from Scranton High School in 1960.
I served seven years in the Pennsylvania National Guard and the United States Army Reserve.
I was employed by the Upper Merion Police Department, located in King of Prussia, Pa. I served 33 proud years with the police department. During this time I received several commendations. I also received a bachelor’s degree in police administration from West Chester State College.
I was co-owner along with my wife, Barbara, of J. M. Cadden Co. LLC/Cadden Florist.
After my retirement I was employed as court security officer at the Federal Court House, Advanced Driver Training Services in King of Prussia, and Marywood Transportation.
I was active in St. Ann’s Basilica Parish and St. Ann’s Novena. I also volunteered at St. Ann’s Food Pantry.
I was an EMT, and did volunteer work in Haiti. I also did work for Hospice of Sacred Heart. I was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 6.
I am survived by the love of my life, my wife, Barbara Cadden. I have many loving nieces and nephews.
I was preceded in death by my sisters, Mary Lou Hengler and Marge Lamond; and brothers, Joseph Ingoldsby and John Ingoldsby.”
Edward P. Ingoldsby, 77, peacefully passed away to Eternity on Oct. 29 while at home surrounded by his loving wife, Barbara; and adoring niece, JoAnne. Ed died as a result of having contracted coronavirus.
We lost our rock this week. The man who never missed a graduation or any party/event. The one who volunteered his time for countless trips to Haiti. The one who donated most of his time giving back to his community and lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. The one who always made it a point to get the family together for dinners, even with all of our crazy schedules. The man of few words but who somehow impacted so many lives.
Thanks for taking care of our family throughout all these years.
Rest in peace, Ed. The world needs more people like you.
Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Geisinger Community Medical Center for their selfless and extraordinary acts of respect, kindness, dignity and love that they tenderly showed to me and my family. They are the true heroes and saints among us.
