
Edward Leonard, 68, passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, at Allied Hospice, Scranton,
surrounded by his loving family. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Ann VanWert and
Edward Leonard.
He was a member of St. Ann’s Basilica and a 1976 graduate of West Scranton High School,
active in the swimming and diving team, as well as, the wrestling team. Before his retirement he
was previously employed at Affiliated Food Distributor, Gress Refrigeration, and Walmart
Distribution Center.
Eddie had a heart of gold. Always looking to help anyone in need. He enjoyed Nascar racing,
football, college basketball, and was a talented artist. He was the life of the party and left an
impression on everyone.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He took great pride in his family but was
especially proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashlie Kincel and husband, Frank; Stepson, Virgil J Argenta
and wife, Jennifer; former spouse, Anne Marie Leonard; sisters, Maribeth Harrington; Melissa
Jenkins and husband, Tom; Dawn Marie Locker and husband, Kevin; a niece, Megan
Harrington; nephews, Aidan Jenkins and David Locker; Grandchildren, Layla and Rylee Kincel;
Hailey Argenta Moore and husband Caleb; Jacob Argenta; Great Grandchildren, Maverick, Isla,
and Ivy Moore.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother “Poncho” Joseph Leonard
and brother in law Paul Harrington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to charity of your liking, in honor of Eddie’s
giving nature.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10am in St. Ann's Basilica. Friends may call Friday from 5-7pm at the Thomas J Hughes FH Inc, 1240 St. Ann St, Scranton
